steering column bushing?

I am converting a 1968 Belvedere steering column to work in my 1964
Fury. It has an automatic shifter on the column, which moves a single
bracket on the lower column, which connects to linkage. Now, does this
single bracket that is integral to the steering column have a bushing or
something, where it connects to the car's linkage rod? It has a bare
hole in the end of this bracket, which looks kind of big.
