I was hoping Sled City had a good product, because I live close enough I'd
go pick it up and save on shipping. I'm not too scared of bodywork, even
though fiberglass can be nasty stuff to be cutting and sanding on and I did
want to paint the hood to match body color (white hood, black scoop).
Anyone tried using new-car hood hinges that don't have springs (just simple
pivots)? I would think you don't need the bracing then, but there still
have to be mounting blocks of sorts.
I'm still kicking myself for not buying another steel hood when I had the
chance. One yard that had one shut down, the other crushed their car. Steel
hoods are heavy, but this car doesn't see much track use.
