There is a story on Mopar Muscle where they started with a 12 to one 440  and 
kept lowering the compression by stacking copper head gaskets.  They  got it 
down to like 8 to one with almost a quarter inch of gaskets.  Dyno  tests 
between changes showed 1 point in compression to be worth 20 hp.  The  test may be 
in their archives.  Don Dulchich was the author.   Joe
