On my 63 dodge wagon, I'd like to run a 3/8" fuel line. Does anyone have a suggestion or any tips on welding in a 3/8" bung at the bottom of the tank to use a pickup? would it need to be a NPT female end, or is there a different type of steel bung I should weld in?
This tank was vatted and treated with some chemical liner many years ago and since that time, it has never held gasoline, so its okay to weld on.
what type of filter should I use? one of those large cannister filters?
The original pickup was 5/16" of course. I found an NOS pickup that is approximately the same size & shape pickup tube, and the sending unit float is nearly the same travel. I believe it is a pickup & sending unit from a D-100 trunk. since the sending unit is so pristine, I don't what to modify it by trying to replace the 5/16" tube with a 3/8" tube, so I'm exploring the bung route....
this is for a street car with a 440.
