My friend is an automotive machinist. He has a '78 440 motorhome
shortblock that he cleaned, machined and rebuilt--new cam, rings,
bearings, oil pump, timing set. A totally stock rebuild. The bores
were so good, he honed them and used the factory pistons. It is a cast
crank, and says so on the harmonic balancer.
He wants $800.00. Is that a good deal? It sounds high to me, but I
just don't know.

Thanks!
