Just like the 64-65's had two cross members, one for a 4spd, and one for autos & 3spds, 66-69 or so B-bodies used two different crossmembers as well... around 70, they went to a single corssmember. For a short period of time, New Process cast a B-body tailshaft that had *both* mount provisions as a changeover item. Another note on tailshafts: especially for Neal, should he try to track down a 64-65 A-833. Believe it or not, there were *two* different tailshaft housings using on the 64-65 B/C A-833s. both of course, were the same length, had the same shifter provision, and were both ball and trunions. The difference was the isolator mounting flange on the bottom. B-bodies used a narrower flange to make use of the 2265836 & 2401653 isolator (mount) that was used on 1962-1965 A-Bodies (all, 3spd, 4spd, & auto) and 64-65 B-body 4spds, the C-body variant of the A-833 used a wider flange to mate a C-body isolator 2460888 to the tailshaft housing. Odd, but true. see the pics at http://www.imperialservices.net/ I have one of each of the trannies, and I have "studied up" on them.
