On the NOS heads I have seen , you can see a discoloration around the valve seat. ITs not a clear cut circle, its sort of a fuzzy ring. If you shot blast the heads, you probably wont be able to see it ever again. If they are hot tanked, you might have a shot at it. As I recall the ring is a bit darker than the rest of the metal.
