The big Pontiacs based on the Impala body were Strato Chief (Biscayne),
Laurentian (BelAir), Parisienne (Impala), Parisienne 2+2 (Impala SS) and
Grande Parisienne (Caprice). The 1966 Grande Parisienne was interesting as
it used the Grand Prix rear window on the 2-door hardtop.

The Beaumont (1964-1969) was based on the Chevelle with some Tempest/LeMans
pieces and the Acadian (1962-1971) on the Chevy II/Nova.

The Firebird was not built in Canada during the 1960's and 1970's, although
some wise Americans showed up at the race tracks during 1967-68 with a
'Canadian' Firebird, complete with Chevrolet engines. Forget the name of
the racing group, but they had a size limit and Pontiac did not have a V8
small enough. But Chevrolet did. They were doing quite well until the
racing authorities found out the Firebird was sold in Canada with Pontiac V8
engines and the whole thing was a scam.

Ford took a different route, taking the Ford shell and making grille and
trim changes for the Mercury dealers' Meteor (1949-1961). Starting in 1964
Ford used the Mercury body with Ford dash and interiors for the Meteor.
Including the six, by the way. The Monterey was not sold in Canada after
1963 as it was in the same price class as the Meteor Montcalm. The Meteor
series were Rideau, Rideau 500, Montcalm and Montcakm S-33. In 1967 they
came out with a model to compete with the LTD, Caprice, VIP, etc. called
the Montego. It renamed LeMoyne for 1968 when Mercury decided to use the
Montego name for the Comet.

The Monarch (1946-1957 & 1959-1961) was a Mercury for Ford dealers. In 1960
Mercury-Meteor dealers got the Frontenac, a Falcon with different grille,
taillights and trim. It was replaced by the Comet for 1961.

And to add a little more confusion, the mid 60's Canadian Pontiac
Beauville was a Chevelle with Chevy drivetrain, typical Pontiac split
grille, and GTO/LeMans interior. They also did this with the Impala body.
