If you can spare the original appearance, you could always get one of those trick street rod dipsticks and tubes (stainless braided flexible dipstick tube) which you can easily route past your manifolds and mount on the firewall or fenderwell. I think Lokar might make them.

I have been informed that I have a conflict between
the manifold and the transmission "dip stick" . The
tranny is a 727 . The stick is "hitting" the
manifold...I'm going to the shop to see it for
myself...anybody got a solution or advice ?
The car is 63 Fury 'vert...440 based MW clone...TTI
exhaust system...
