Three years ago, I paid $179 for my current remanufactured 1406 (600
cfm) Edelbrock carb. I picked it up off the shelf in the retail sales
center of the Summit Racing distribution center in Sparks, NV. The carb
finish was not as polished and bright as was my previous brand new one,
but the box had all of the same parts and the carb is still running
strong.

As a technical writer, I was impressed by the manual. It contains some
of the simplest tuning instructions I've seen in some time.

It should also be pointed out that Edelbrock redesigned and improved the
carbs over the original Carters. Last I heard, the carbs were being
manufactured by Weber. I don't know who does the reman process, but it
makes sense that it would be Weber, as well.

The reason that I bought my first Edelbrock carb was because I wasn't
able to find an adequate source of tuning parts for the original Carter
AVS and AFB carbs. Edelbrock is very good at making them available at
most any auto parts store.

I would also like to see the larger and newer versions become available
as remans.
