Jim,

A couple of questions.... Are your Ross pistons flat tops and 
are they zero decked? If you are, you could use a thicker
Cometic gasket and lower your compression ratio.

With a static 11.2 in Cali, depending on your cam, your effective 
compression ratio should be around 10.2 to one. You could run 
a bit more cam and help the compression issue also. That is real close
to getting by on pump gas with the correct timing set up. 

Are you running vacuum advance? If so, with that compression ratio 
I would scrap it. That might help a lot.

While I would have to have engine builder explain why, my closed chamber
E'brock heads in combo with Ross pistons, Hughes roller cam and springs,
produced
11.2:1 cr.  Wasn't the plan, I had stressed to everyone I bought parts from
that I wanted to run on the 91 octane horse-pee hey call gas out here in
SoCal.

Now, I'm buying 55-gallon drumes of 11 ocrtane and mixing....BUT, have more
power!
