have a 482 stroker here of my own made using the Bb ford forged pistons(TRW SEALED POWER FM).
Still playing with it. 4.4 bore and 3.96 stroke. Block is short poured (1/2 filled) for strength with 080 overbore but still doesnt overheat.
However i think doing it again i would just oder custom pistons from ross Cp or Je etc.
Advantage of fords was they were cheap, the right size and could be used with the Nasacar hemi rods when resized sligtly. (102 pins to 103)
When we build an experimental combo we usually do it as cheaply as possible so if it is not good we dont break our tiny little piggy bank.
Once we kow it works then we often build a upgraded engine with custom pistons etc)
I have said too much today so i will shut up and go back in my cave for a bit.
