In the tech archives of this site they have an article by R.Ehrenberg
that talks about this pretty well.
  It depend s on what kind of car u have : A or B body, for an  A - body
  u need upper control arms that came from  a 73-76 idsc equipped
  A-body, for B-body u just need the spindles from a 73-76  disc
  equipped A-body
