I don't run a Sun tach in the race car....use an autometer. I've heard
of those doing the same thing as you describe, but it is highly unlikely
that is the problem. Thanks for the input, however.

OK, I've had the same thing happen to me. I had a 69 Z28 in 69, bought
it
brand new
Had to have a sun tach. Had it in the car for about 6 months, and one
day the
car wouldn't start. We checked everything out, and couldn't figure it
out. My
dad came out and said to cut the tach wires, we did and the car fired
right
up. I've seen this happen quite a few times too, but just with Sun
tachs.
Just a thought, if you have a sun, disconnect it and try it.
