AFAIK,Dave O's correct,and I'm sure he could add way more to the thread than I could.

EXCLUDING NASCAR,I was trying to point out that the 64 cars are not A-990 engine package cars.Some people lump 64 and 65 cars into the A-990 package group and call it good.Also,that there are steelnose and aluminum cars,and hardtop and Post Hemi cars in the same year,unlike '65.

My personal definition of "civilian",as it relates to the 12 hardtop cars,is cars that were not lettered,painted race schemes,or sponsored.IMO (since I wasn't there),some made it to the street in that fashion.According to the local guru,one was used as a tow car until the race car's engine blew.

Dave O, one thing I have to question is that if you were building a hardtop race car,why would you give it a steel nose when you were putting aluminum on the sedans? Also,were they delivered with the single or dual headlights?
