I used the Por 15 kit once and found it to be to hard when it cured. I use an epoxy I get from Home Depot that is easier to work with. A good two part single stage paint will work great. It does take some practice to get good coverage without runs. I did screw up a couple of times on my first ones. Just re-sanded and did her again. It is time consuming. Earl Gary's Steering Wheel Restorations is the guy at Carlisle. They look great but they are not cheap, though. I'm thinking $350 - 400 range for our '65 B-Body units. His web site is www.dealsonwheels.com/parts/garys/. Anybody try to do their own with the POR-15 kit? I'm particularly hoping to hear from the amatuer painters and body guys on this.
