If you are still using the '65 manual lever on the valve body a good double check is to connect an ohm meter on the neutral starting switch terminal and with the engine off select first neutral and then park , the meter should shown continuity in both positions. IF you're "solid" in the other ranges chances are you're on with the adjustment. I'm using a '65 727 in my '63 as well.
