I bought a plastic coolant recovery bottle and mounted it ahead of the
radiator but off to the right side. You really can't see it with the
hood closed and it works great. It only cost about $5 at O'Reilly or
others.
As I recall I did this on my original '64 Dodge 330 2 door post when I
bought it new in '64. Coolant recovery was just getting started back
then. I also disconnected the windshield washer and ran it too a
preforated hose ahead of the radiator. Then when I was running in the
desert and it got hot I could squirt some water on the radiator via the
washer. Now this won't win friends on a track but it worked on the
street.
