1964 Heater Control Switch

As will come as no surprise here, when I attempted to remove the heater control switch (2256681) from my 1964 440, it fell apart.

I don't find any of that part online, but I do see listings for 2496873, which is claimed to supercede 2256681.  Can anyone confirm that this is a direct replacement?

And I see that MoParMall claims to rebuild these.  Any experience with this service?
