I had the same o-ring issue. The one they sent w/ the rebuilt core was too thin to provide a good seal. I ended up ordering some thicker diameter o-rings that provided a better seal.

I would try a new o-ring. The one you show is green like the new 134A refrigerant o-rings. Check the clearance to ensure proper o-ring compression. That green ring my not have the correct section width.
