I'm not surprised at Holley's move to dump Hilborn. It's a sentimental favorite for the old-timers, I'm sure, but there can't be much of a market for it, and in a day where market share and margin is all that seems to matter to the conglomerates who've bought up different brands over the years, it's inevitable. I fear the same fate is coming for Lunati Cams now that they were bought by Edelbrock, who also owns Comp Cams. My guess is they bought it for the grinds, not the brand name.
If I may add a comment regarding the FiTech alternative, if I were to go that direction I would also consider the dual quad Holley Terminator-X system. Having said that, I would never, ever recommend a Sniper unit. But it will cost you a beer (or two) to hear my rant regarding that entry-level product...
