Since I got my lift I've been hiring myself out to do the conversions
locally, last one, which was on an early A body, I put all new suspension
components in, disc brake conversion using A body stuff and new master
cylinder, rotors, calipers, hoses, etc, disassemble and clean the
combination valve, blast and paint the upper and lower control arms, new
front lines bent up by me (as opposed to a custom stainless kit like from
Fine Lines or whatever), price of the alignment at my favorite local shop, I
charged a grand total of $1000. I was able to acquire the used components
for $250, but they are bound to get more expensive in time. The labor is
probably worth more than what I figured on that one, so probably need to
increase it some there, the guy needed a front frame rail repair which I
threw in for nothing extra. I have a set of those tools now, can't think of
the name of the company, but they make it easy to remove and install the
upper control arm bushings, and another tool to pull out the lower control
arm pivot pin. I know I'm not really factoring in the cost of my lift,
press, other tools, etc since I got them for myself anyway, if I were making
a living doing this I'd have to add some more toward the tools, etc.
