Hello,

I have a 63 Sport Fury 383  4 speed car in Arkansas that was parked in 1974 
that I want to DRIVE to California!!  I am looking for suggestion on how to 
get it ready in 4 weeks starting the first of March.  Currently I am 
thinking about the following:

New brakes front and rear, may want to convert the front to disk brakes.  I 
put the Stainless Steel kit on my 64 Fury and I am very happy with it.
Check and replace steering linkage
New gas tank
New gas line
New brake lines
New or rebuilt radiator
Check and rebuild or replace front U-Joint
Check the transmission

I will need an engine and clutch, the engine in the car is stuck.  I was 
thinking about the PAW 440 however after following the posts on this board 
I'm not sure.   The car will be a driver, not going to do a show car 
restoration and I want the engine to be fun but mild enough to be able to 
afford to drive when the car is done. I will be driving to Lowell Arkansas 
from San Diego around the first of March if anyone along the way has a 
running 383 to 440 that is for sale I would be interested.

I have been following the board long enough to know there is a wealth of 
information and experience.  Any recommendations on what to buy and what to 
avoid would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to have the car on the road and mechanically sound in 
approximately 4 weeks but if it does not happen it will give me another 
excuse to go back to Arkansas.  I would move there but no way I can get my 
wife out of San Diego.
