James,
I have a complete '64 rear end sitting on jack stands in my garage, so I 
took measurements with both brake drums installed.  Here's what I found:

Outside of drum to outside of drum at axle flange - 61 1/2"
Inner most edge of drum to drum - 53 3/16"
Center of perch to center of perch - 44"
