Great story!
That's how Lewis & Clark should have done it.

Subject: New Mopar Road Trip Saga

I hope some of you guys enjoy my pain in getting my
new (to me) 67 Dart home from Pasco Wa.

My flight was due to leave at 8AM Fri from Salt Lake to Pasco.
The flight got canceled due to fog at the Pasco airport. It had
been closed off and on for a week. I had to get there by noon
Sat because the guy who had it, had to put his dad in the hospital.
I stayed at the Salt Lake airport from 6:30AM to 9PM at night on stand
by for a Pasco flight. They were all booked because of the Fog backlog.
I got on the 9PM flight, they told us it would be 50/50 we would be
diverted to Portland Or. Sure enough the 50/50/90% rule applied.
If you have a 50/50 chance, then it is 90% sure you will get the 50%
you don't want. Got to Portland at 10:30 PST, rented a car, drove
190 miles to Pasco - in the fog I might add - got there at 4AM -
sleep in the Rent a Car, met the guy at 8:30, bought him breakfast
and checked the car out, got all the spares loaded up and drove
her home.

The good news is that the 38 year old girl - 273 Hi Po - never
missed a beat. After a nightmare of getting to the car, the Mopar
never let me down. 652.5 miles - 10 hours drive time - 18.1 miles
per gallon (big tail wind from Bosie to Slc) - average speed 65 MPH.
If they built cars like that today, with the technology we have,
completely
focused on simplicity, function and quality, they would last a lifetime.
God I love old Mopars. If I was rich, I would do that every weekend.
There is no better adventure than driving an old car cross county.
