I would not mess with trying to square your headers away. I would just put stock manifolds on and enjoy the car while your building your new motor. One word of caution with the Wedge thing. When your dealing with raised ports, depending on your block, you can run into some serious header issues in B bodies. If you run Wedge, or raised port heads on a 400 block, then stock 440 height headers will work, but if you run Wedge heads on a 440 block, then your going to get into all kinds of clearance issues. Not many headers made for this application that work well. Make sure you do your home work on the combo you decide on. Then double check it. Earl Engine is totally stock except for cam and headers with over 100k on it, heads were redone stock. Carb is original 4bbl. I don't mind spending the money on good gaskets, but only if they will fix the leak. Another issue is this only a temporary engine, as I plan on building a more serious 426w I already have and installing TTI headers with THAT motor, so I don't want to put a lot of money into the 413. Can you mill the flange at home Earl? Thanks. Jeff Earl Helm wrote: > > Jeff, > > It depends on your carb. If your running an older Afb or Holly, then > the headers will be very effective.
