I had a nightmarish problem with a broken end stud in a 440 head. The
machinist who drilled it out got part of the hole ever so slightly oval,
and it leaked anti-freeze against the exhaust manifold. A big, nasty,
steamy mess. I tried everything to seal it with, and the only thing that
worked was using a permanently NON-hardening sealer. I just can't
remember what it was, but it was available everywhere, and fixed it
completely. Every other sealer I tried failed.
