Oh and what you intend to do with the car after its finished. If it were myself and it was a numbers matching car and it was in good shape in need of a restoration and I planned on keeping it by all means paint it whatever color you prefer. If it were a rare car that I new I planned on reselling keep it original as possible, I would paint it the factory color even if the color wasn't that great just to keep it original. Here goes: Would you tend to stay with factory colors and finishes when restoring your car? I mean exterior paint, interior fabric, carpet, etc. I realize it's an expression of what and who to derail but given the option. Would you prefer to stay with VIN OEM schemes? What if they weren't that nice? Does it effect value that much? I'm trying to decide which road to go down.
