Loosen the lockdown nut on the case.
Drive the tapered stud until the cable slides in the housing.
Push the cable all the way into the case, then turn the driveshaft.
You should hear a clicking sound.
While turning the driveshaft, pull the cable back out untill the
clicking noise stops. No more than that..
Tighten the lockdown nut and then throw it into park.
If it still won't hold, you'll have to pull the park lever housing and
see if everything is hooked up, and in place,

Hello, this is my first time writing the group. I have a 62 dodge dart max
wedge clone. I had a trans. oil leak at my parking cable, where it goes into the
trans. the o ring was no good. I took the cable out, put a new o ring on it,
but I'm having a problem getting the trans to lock in park. I slide it in and
hear and feel it click, and when I move the parking lever, I can feel the
tension, but the car still moves. I've been fooling with this for days, and it
always is the same thing. Please, if there is anyone out there that can give me
some advice, I would very much appreciate it harry
