You might call Moser again and ask them,it seems they make 2 different
axels for the A body 8 3/4. The 1st is a std configuration that bolts into
the housing using the backing plates and drums that came from the factory
with the small bolt pattern and small A body brakes,not sure of the
diameter 10" maybe.The second axel is meant for the narrow A body 8 3/4
and uses the larger B body backing plates and drums,the difference
being,the distance from the hub flange to the bearing is greater to allow
for the wider brakes of the B body. I am assuming you have the shorter of
the 2 and are trying to use the bigger backing plates and drums.I used the
short ones and had the drums redrilled for the larger bolt pattern,and have
had no problems. Let us know how it works out,you may need to find std A
body backing plates and drums to match the axels that you have. Good luck,
