Hello, I am a new member as I'm sure you saw earlier. I have two 1964
Chrysler Newports. One is a four-door sedan that will be my parts car and
the other is a convertible that is currently in my garage. The vert has
been sitting for about seventeen years and needs a total rebuild. It is
originally a South Dakota car, but I found it at a small used
dealer/mechanic in Norwalk, IA.

Like I said, the car is in pretty bad shape. I've cut out and replaced the
front floor on both sides and I'm working on removing the dash and the rest
of the interior so I can use some rust preventative paint. I've also
removed the passenger fender to repair some rust there, just building up the
courage to start cutting.

It has a 361 and push-button 727. The engine is locked and I've
disassembled the top end so far. Planning on rebuilding to mostly stock,
but will try to warm it up a little.

It's a big project, but someday it'll be a nice cruiser. With the extent of
work I'm needing to do, this one's never going to be a show car. Just a
decent driver, which is exactly what I want.

Take care,
Robert Gideon
