I just did 1400 miles on my 64 Belv (Boston-Maine-Carlisle-Boston) and they were beginning to scrunge pretty bad. I spooned them up before I left but I can't see them because I haven't got the drums off yet. My chiltons has the exact same photographs as the web page and I posted on my tapered axles and got lots of good responses a month or two ago. I'll be needing one to do my rears pretty soon. Tom -----Original Message----- From: Andy Grow [mailto:sixtyfourmopar@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Sunday, July 11, 2004 2:56 AM To: 62 to 65 Mopar list Subject: Tapered axle I.D. question I was checking out the pictures and instructions on the AutoHobbyDigest webpage (http://www.autohobbydigest.com/axlepul.html) about the tapered axles, and I noticed that in one of the pictures it shows the axle puller connected to the drum, as if they were unable to pull the axle without removing the drum (this picture here http://www.autohobbydigest.com/image.php?axlepul03.jpg). I'm kinda confused, because I am able to remove my drum and the wheel studs are still there on a flange...does this mean I DON'T have a tapered axle rear end, or am I inhaling too much brake dust??? It's kinda late, and I've had a long day, so maybe I'm confusing some things here. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
