Bill,
I use the Carter race pumps and had problems with my Edelbrock 750 cfm
carb. The needle valve and seat couldn't handle the pressure. I
installed a fuel pressure regulator set at 5.5 psi and didn't have any
more problems. My friend has a Super Bee with the same pump and his car
has a fuel pressure gauge that read 10 psi. He regulated his to
6.5...Brian

floats. Bent the tabs up a little and so far it seems like it's working.
This pump is supposed to have around 8 pounds of fuel pressure. I
installed a fuel gauge inline and after starting the engine it pegged
the needle on the gauge. Nothing came out of the vent tubes on the carbs
so I'm not sure if the gauge is faulty or not."
