Hello

The problem with storing a block or engine in a plastic bag is, when the
steel is cold and you turn on the heat or it warms up quickly it forms
moisture in the bag and it is trapped, causing rust. What I do is oil
the exposed bare steel with oil or even a thin layer of grease and cover
the block completely with a blanket to keep out dirt and dust, allowing
it to breath (dry out the moisture). Always store the crank and heads
on their end.
