I bought the big bucks set of chrome air cleaners from Special Ts. I don't want to cut out the bracing under the hood, but the front air cleaner only has approx. 1/4" clearance between it and the brace. I don't want to take a chance on the engine moving and hitting the brace under load and scratching the expensive chrome. The current air cleaner element is 13" O.D. / 11" I.D. / 2" Tall. What I'd like to find is one that is 1 1/2" or 1 5/8" tall. I checked with NAPA and Car Quest and they don't show any standard size filter shorter than 2" in that diameter. I thought that maybe Mr. Gasket might make them, but they only had engine listings in their catalog, not dimensions. Anyone have an idea for a source I can check that would list dimensions?
