Look into our programs and get the degree that gets you going! caab6aBb7yoMza/ UOP =========================================================== When looking at the console shifter, the top cable is the park cable (goes to the housing bolted on the bottom of the trans behind the pan) and the lower cable is the gearshift cable (goes in by the kickdown and neutral safety switch). Your description indicates a few possibilities: the cables are switched on the shifter end (impossible to do on the transmission end as the two cable ends are different (at least my shop manual shows them to be). Its also possible that the park cable was not installed properly or is out of adjustment. (It sounds like you're experience the ratcheting noise that manual advises one to avoid when adjusting the cable.
