So you mean, do not use 1/2 inch NPT, but use 1/2 inch Straight. I don't
remember ever seeing that tap size, but I guess if I ask around & I'll
locate one.

check a tap-drill chart for the proper size. i'd have to double check but i
think i'm using a 47/64, but i'm doing a little free lancing here. the #1
issue
is that the hemi pick-up pipe is 1/2 STRAIGHT pipe thread, not taper pipe
like in plumbing stuff. be careful when you drill so that you don't break
the
pick up boss in the block.
