I know that others have put it well that we should not repeat third party stories, nor should we be jealous of someone who has taken a risk to try to support his family by doing what he does to strive to keep the hobby going with support from research and publishing his "numbers' books. I met Galen last year and spent three days at Carlisle with him and his family. I found this ex-Marine to be honest, willing to share information to passers by, and also possessing of a good sense of humor. He and his wife and children were pleasant company and shared their food and paid for my parking pass so that I could camp on the grounds. I had a good time with him and he freely came with me to the car corral to look at a 64 Sport Fury at the Nats later that summer. He didn't charge me, and gave me some valuable tips. Although his expertise is better in the 67 through 71 era, he is an amazing source of knowledge. I for one, appreciate him and hope that the character assassinations can now die down.
