Re: Carb question

I bought a rebuilt Edlebrock 650 from Jegs 2 years ago for $179 as opposed to a new one the year before for $249. When someone returns a carb because they couldn't adjust it to run right, Jegs sends it back to Edlebrock, who then goes thru it and replaces all gaskets and adjusts everything, then repackages it in a plain brown box. So, if you buy a rebuilt from Edlebrock, you're basically getting a "new" carb rebuilt by the people that built it in the first place. Plus you save $70! I'm sure not all rebuilt carbs are rebuilt with the same quality, though. I'd guess if you buy a rebuilt Holley from Jegs it's the same procedure.

Was that carb really "new" or was it a rebuilt? Lot's of places don't even
sell rebuilts because they typically have so many problems. Rich Kinsley
