--I believe this car was created by a couple of guys in the “INC” club. Richard Palmer & Henry Hopkins of Richmond CA. Henry survives. The couple have prepared and shown several concours-grade cars. I remember seeing the car and they both went to great lengths to make it look like it could have been a C-300 while always explaining it was a “Phantom” car as shown on its plate. I believe the car started life as a ’55 Windsor convertible. Similar convertibles have been created to fill a missing gap. Notably, conversions of ’70 New Yorker rags into 300 Hurst’s look a likes Wondering if anyone has seen a 300J rag from a ’63 300 or Newport convertible? I have even seen a ’55 or ’56 Imperial rag.. I think it started life as a New Yorker or Windsor. Not a fan of these, but artistic creativity cannot be suppressed. Passing off counterfeits as the real thing can be and should be suppressed.

What an idiotic article. Pure click-bait so they can serve ads to people who take the time to read it. The writer seems to be saying, ‘This car isn’t authentic…but it may be’.
Of course, they could have contacted our club and had the VIN number checked against the microfilm to clear this up. But why should facts matter when you can spin a false narrative.

Hi everyone,
This was interesting to read about a C300 Convertible.
