Turn out Allen is correct. Two styles of switch. One for the consol shift and one for everything else. The auto store parts books don’t show it. The factory Master Parts Book does.

About a week after I get it back, I note that it is leaking. After a few months of running, it I check the level and it is down a quart. It is leaking more than I thought.

So, I take it in yesterday and they called my late in the day and told me the switch is leaking through the top. This is not a surprise to me as we have a new converter pump and a new housing. I assume the pressure is spot on and the old switch failed.

They go into the thing this morning to put in the new switch; it is the later, c.1965 type, and it is longer. I have two cores; they all have the shorter ones. The transmission has the correct trans number the only thing I can think of is the comb is from a later one. The car was produced in the fall of 1963.

Can anyone shed light on this for me? I car when I got it has 97K miles on it with one owner. I took the pan off and changed the filter; it had been in there a long time. Other than that is it stock.

Anyone?
