
Ditto for Maine, where there is NEVER a state inspection if you register it with antique tags. You just need to write down the plate number of your “everyday” vehicle when applying for the antique plates when you register your old car so the DMV knows the antique vehicle is not your primary mode of transportation. Additionally, we have emissions guidelines in only one county (out of 19) for cars using regular plates. Definitely makes things easier for enthusiasts, although the winter weather is another story….
