SFE fuses are standard  mechanical sizes since 20’s in all cars all brands .
maybe something funky with holder in car? some holders have folded over tiny tabs , maybe tight ? bend back tiny tab? ?
When you say  width , you mean length end to end right ?
narrower diameter fuses are euro they are are all same size , want to say 5 mm x 20 mm ( not sure from memory) maybe someone put one in somehow . American cars never used them , sometimes in aftermarket radios from offshore etc

I had to search hard and find these online from Buss via Amazon, but if you are feeling a little sacrilegious and want to go over to the Ford world, they do sell an assortment here:

Ford seemed to like these odd length ( and diameter) ones as well.

Yea….
I have a replacement SFE 6-amp fuse that is a bit longer & thus won’t fit in the fuse holder.
Was just wondering if there were a specific brand that others have had success with.
I will just go seek other fuses & bring my old one to size up with new ones at parts stores.

those are SFE fuses , each amp is a different length 32 vdc rated
Assortment probably on Amazon napa etc  low $
SFE 6
Electronic fuses look like them but all the same length 250 v AGC etc many variants, slow blo ceramic etc

I am in need of a replacement 6-amp short fuse for the backup lights on my ’62 Sport.

The blown one I pulled from the fuse box….
Is a smaller width than the replacement short 6-amp fuse I bought.

Anyone know of a fuse brand that is short enough to squeeze into the clips that live in the fuse box?
Otherwise I may have to visit many parts stores with the bad fuse to see what measures up.

Thanks!
