Albert, if original the switch is hydraulic and screws into the bottom of the master cylinder.
The originals seem to last a long time. The ones we buy today new are hit or miss, mostly miss. Find an original used one, or, convert to pedal arm actuated. I did.

Subject: {Chrysler 300} Brake Light Switch for 300F
Good Afternoon Everyone:
My brake lights work on the 300F; however, you have to push pretty hard far down to get them to come on. I looked for the switch attached to the pedal, but I cannot find one.
Any help with this one is appreciated.
