Here is an old photo of my red Valiant while it still looked good. 8 litres of acrylic lacquer. I remember my friend who painted it, did say red was the most expensive colour paint. Rich, this ‘71 Val (318/904) would stand out in your parking lot as this hardtop was uniquely built in Australia! Have finally gone back to a red car with a Mazda6 with Soul Red Crystal Mica. IMHO, the most beautiful red ever made. I doubt that it will change colour like my Val did, but the clear coat may end up peeling eventually. Sorry for the non 300 content. Henry From: chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> On Behalf Of c300@xxxxxxx Just an aside and sharing the Good News. I bought a new 2005 Dodge Durango to pull a car trailer with a 300 up to remote car shows. The Dodge has set outside almost all of its life while various 300's got the garage space. The Durango is a standard Fire-Engine Red with no fading or clearcoat peeling—except the bumper covers which I had redone. The Durango looks amazing and did a great job hauling the trailer as it had the trailer-towing package suspension and gearing. I had our 300K repainted and tried to match the original T-code Roman Red Metallic. Got too much metal in it, but it looks great with the new black top and the Goers black leather. We love red cars, going back to our red Fire-Engine Red Valiant. Very rare here in CA, so easy to spot in the parking lot full of white-silver-gray-black cars. Rich Barber Brentwood, CA From: chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> on behalf of Drew W Carl <drew@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Does anyone have any experience or advice on matching the red on a 62 300? I had my Uncles all original (except the trunk lid) car at a good body guy to redo another trunk lid because his was redone twice and keeps rusting through from the inside out, all over it, and worse each time. The first attempt the color match was great in the light but if the car was outside in the daytime, and in the shade the match was very off. The guys are trying again to get it right, and I feel they are good at what they do and as particular as I am, but they are having a really hard time getting an exact match. I figured it was worth sending out a message to see if anyone had any advice. --
