This is what the gasket looks like when the lock strip is pried out. It just pries out, as shown. I went to buy a piece of glass and gasket from a salvage yard, one of those where they pull the parts for you, and whoever did it ruined the gasket by pulling the little strip completely off the gasket. The strip stays with the gasket, don’t tear it off, just pry it open.
