Moving a bit off topic, however regarding Ford vs. Chrysler wheel compatibility, it was my observation that the hub centers are slightly smaller on Ford wheels. I found if you don’t enlarge the hub diameter slightly they can be very tight and difficult to remove. This could vary model to model of course and it’s always important to ensure hub size compatibility as well as lug nut taper.

If there is a stripped adjuster, then the eccentric cam is probably frozen. So I would opt for finding a center support in better condition.

In mid assembly of stock 300 F front drum brakes. Is there a gasket between the backing plate and spindle? Where can I get a proper set of fresh lug nuts 5 with LH threads?
