I think they are just oil and fuel sponges myself. I prefer to leave it all out and to wrap the fuel lines… One could in theory have the bottom the intake manifold coated with some of that eat reflective coatings and get the same thing out of it without the insulation…. James From: 'ALLAN

What are opinions on using the insulation between the intake manifold and the valley pan?
Most seem to end up missing, like mine did with only a remnant remaining.
