I think Dan , it may be the rams that force it to up under the fender ,,not models or brands? Some conflict with auto pilot too
while on this , big heads up , I had an F that i could not get to run right , maybe even my first one ( as in 1970 or so—yow) Eventually I found the vacuum tank behind the headlight had a rust hole in it . Way back then . Better put , a perforation not a hole . Not large enough to be an obvious vacuum leak, but large enough to wreck idle or any ram setup attempt by FSM I misdiagnosed it as carb bs , rebuilt them etc — still the same . I thought engine had a problem, terrible idle / stall etc . I found it by accident , saw rust on tank up over tire pressed on it it caved in . It gets murdered by road salt spray there . fyi. Check integrity with mity vac This has to happen to lots of our cars ? leads to needless engine rebuild .. Hello, all. I've got a 61 New Yorker 2 door hardtop parts car that's been in storage for 30 + years. Today I raised the hood and found the brake system vacuum tank laying in the lower engine compartment below the battery tray. It's apparently been there for a long time, and I either didn't notice it all those years ago or forgot that I had. Can anyone advise exactly where this goes--its installed position (single hose, no cruise control) and how it is fastened to the car, otherwise I'll have to take out the battery and tray on my "G" to see how it's installed. Thanks for the assistance. Dennis
