Re: {Chrysler 300} Self loading wheel dollies

I've owned both the OTC hydraulic and the GoJaks brands.  Both get the job done, but the GoJaks are well worth the upgrade.  The hydraulic ones don't move much when they are cold so you need to pump them like crazy.  I also found that they leak over time, say 10+ years.  I bought a used set of GoJaks and gave my OTC set away to a friend.  For long term durability, I think the ratcheting type is the way to go and I would not trust the generic ones to work as well as the GoJaks, but I have no experience with the generic ones to offer a perspective.  The only positive I can say for the hydraulic type is that they are easier to pump.  The GoJaks require more leg strength, so keep that in consideration.  Worst case though, you could slide a pipe over the ratchet arm to give you more leverage.

I can't speak for most of those brands but you can definitely tell the difference between Go jacks and harbor freight ones. A friend uses harbor freight ones and the ratchet mechanisms suck. I used go jacks before and they were great.

Hey 300 clubbers

I’m finally shopping for myself for Christmas and really need a GOOD set of “self loading” wheel dollies to move my cars around on my epoxy garage floor. I’ve taken to YouTube for reviews, but if any of you have any real world experience with moving larger cars, I’m all ears. I’m really looking at GoJaks, but Eastwood, Snap On, Jegs, Summit, and Harbor Freight all offer some type. I’m only looking for the self loading type. Give me your honest reviews!

Happy holidays to all
